An industry disruptor, this cream liqueur design was purposefully designed to steer away from traditional Irish Cream cues. 

Created to sit alongside brand leaders and supermarket favourites, Soirée has gone on a developmental journey to become an innovative, cost-saving and fairly priced brand. 

In the first instance, this design used a blind emboss on black material, coupled with gold foil and screen printed white ink to create a uniquely premium experience. 

Taking inspiration from the premium confectionery category, where cardboard paper and foil work together to give a tactile experience when handling the product, the emboss effect was the focal point of the design. 

The sprayed black bottle coupled with the emboss effect would give the bottle itself a show-stopping allure, where the label appears to be a part of the bottle itself rather than material stuck onto it.

This, however, meant that we could not propose a screen printed ink solution as it would push the cost per unit above the desired unit price and, arguably more importantly for the designer, the effect would not be achieved. 

This insight into the print process and capabilities of it gives Graphic Brands a unique advantage in the brand design journey. Having created something to be proud of, it was then time to find a practical way to achieve it. 

Having worked with O-I: Expressions on Heavens Highball (you can read all about it here), the option to produce a glass emboss effect and spray a matt black colour on top was a cost-effective, more sustainable, and time-saving solution. 

A first for Graphic Brands and O-I: Expressions, the bottle emboss and matt black spray, transformed this project with the design being adapted to fit the technology perfectly. 

Using in-house experts’ knowledge of print and commercial awareness, this brief transformed into an innovative project, addressing print queries, registration and label application concerns, resolving all to become a fully formed, market-leading product. 

It now not only stands out on shelf, but also adds extra value to the price point, creating a clear differentiation from the competition in this space.

It is an effective premium solution for brands,

which opens up a new way of converting premium decoration.
